I am free forever from condemnation.
– There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:1)
So it has been said, if there is a “therefore” then it is “therefore” a reason…to fully understand the writer of Romans, Paul, we need to know what he has been writing about. Previously, Paul was explaining that there was a perfect sacrifice in the person and work of Jesus Christ. A sacrifice that far exceeded the sacrifices that people would make at the temple, this sacrifice was the Lamb of God!!! Only “now” can sin be fully, permanently, and eternally be forgiven.
I also have heard it said that we wake up each day with a “blank slate” That’s a lie from Satan himself, because it implies we wake up each day and try to appease God. However, what this verse tells us is that “there is no” condemnation. That “no” is a double negative in the Greek which also shows us “where” what we are to emphasis. So it should say there is “no (never) any condemnation” There is no “blank slate” there is NO slate at all.
All of our sins are forgiven past, present, and future. Live in freedom, live free from guilt, and live knowing you truly are forgiven!!
